Here We Are

Eight years ago We started the race We are still keeping the pace For we are always good to go. Many were called Few were chosen The few were weeded Yet we kept on. Some were cut down in their prime Some unceremoniously came to the end of their time Some found better dreams to follow Others deserted, their endurance's root were so shallow. But here we are By God's grace Daily waxing stronger Determined to finish the race. PS: Written on 08/06/13 to mark my eight years in the Nigerian Navy.
