Her Wolf the Soldier

The soldier lost Protecting not his country but his love They assume his life it cost They believe he joined those above Though his love knows he tried To keep the promise he made so long ago But she says he broke it when he died As her tears fall onto cut wrists below All the while he's working to come home Not dead just left for dead, forgotten He made the promise to live for her for hurting her he hopes he can be forgiven He thinks I'm coming home, as she cries And she receives a letter from an unknown soldier Saying "a wolf away from home never dies" One day the doorbell rings She answers the door To have her wolf greet her And to sooth her soul he sings I'm coming home
