Her Station
As the subway approached eighth street she gathered up her things
And soon getting up on her feet to go face in what this life brings
When there at the station stood and old man with a handmade sign
Saying something about Creation and how prayer is spiritually divine
Hannah stepped off to the side for a minute so she could read what it said
People all pushing and having a fit all passing him in just looking ahead
But there she would stand and now the two were standing there alone
As he reached out with his hand in saying "Hello" in a sullen gentle tone
She asked him a question or two as another packed subway came in
Seeing some of the attention he drew, a new conversation would begin
He had an answer for each question and a loving thought behind each
And his great love of God's Son gave him this amazing ability to teach
Every verse He seemed to know, and just when it needed to be used
As later she continued to grow and no longer would feel so confused
She didn't get that job she was applying for, but remembered that sign
God had something much greater in store, her own lost soul to realign
