Her Eyes

Seeking nothing, my life blessed more than most, An unplanned conversation, brief moments out of time. Yet something fleeting goes through me, like a razor sharp arrow, my interest piqued, my heart pierced. Lunch. Simple, innocent. Two hearts meet for the first time. But. Those. Eyes! Even then something was taking shape. A spark had begun to smolder and soon there would be flames. When her chocolate-brown eyes met mine, something inside me trembled. A voice spoke to me, low and soft; a desire was born. What magic is it that brings two people together? What power, what Divinity? And now, few short weeks later, I am smitten, over and over, with every look into her soulful eyes. To say she is complex is a joke. Within her soul is more pain, more fear and more sorrow than I have ever seen before. But not just those, for when I gaze into her eyes I see the deeper things. I see desire, I see hope, I see Love. Now seldom a moment goes by when she does not occupy my thoughts, my heart. Time is our mutual cruel Mistress, but we must be patient. For time will pass, sorrow will fade, fears shall end and pail will cease, but love; love shall remain. By Warren NightWolf, 10-19 Free Verse, 213 Words
