Helpless

She now walks with a heart battered Under the jagged distortion Of her shadowy desires Having realized love is masked Beyond recognition like an ekpo The fifth lover just left As did the fourth and previous ones Each taking a chunk Of her innocence and age along. She had built castles in the air Of growing old with the first; Of the second one nursing Her first wound; Of the third being different From the rest; Of the fourth being God-sent And of the fifth (That just left) being everything. But here she stands alone She had been a door Love is the key And she wish someone Could show up to change the lock.
