Help

Somebody help me, I don't understand Why people are so damn up tight Not like we're gonna be around forever To age ninety or a hundred we might Our society needs to mellow out Our tickers weren't meant for this stress The average lifespan of a healthy male Could be quite a bit longer, my guess Times we're living in is surely a factor The pace of life is astounding We no sooner marry and raise a family When into old age we go bounding Guess I kinda rushed you through life Didn't mean to dampen your dreams But oh for the laid back days of the past Or at least that's how they seemed © Jack Ellison 2013

One of your most profound, Jack! I don't understand it either... life is too short to worry about so many petty things. It seems society has gotten better and worse at the same time... depending on how you look at it. I do think I wasn't exactly cut out for the technology-era. But I suppose complaining about it isn't changing anything... I so enjoyed reading this tonight!

You continue to amaze me with your insight into life and what's really important! Think I'll call you the "Young Philosopher" from now on!

We live in a world that knows no sympathy and barely understand the meaning of relationships among humans. But there is always this Hope. The hope of a time to come when dead consciences are awaken and senses. I am sure there is a lot that we can give and receive,,, we only need a trigger! ........... Dear Sir, this poem is very deep indeed!

We're too busy... We're neglecting our children who are getting lost in the shuffle. A day care is not a role model to base a childs future upon... Yet that is what happens most often. I call what we've done to them 'the throw away society'. They think any thing goes and lack closeness to family and each other. Their behavior often lacks soo much that a hug and a little closeness could have taught them.
