Held

Shall I compare the darkness to the light that shone from eyes that only wished be seen, the black and white to somewhere in between, the dawn of you to this eternal night? Shall I compare the trenches to the height a soul can reach when touched by the serene, equality to victim's tired routine, the veil of history to truest sight? It seems a futile struggle to erase such clarity from this once-blinded eye… Now any heart divided can not stand, can not deserve the peace of your embrace, this fractured heart has yet to say goodbye – you hold the pieces in unknowing hands.
