Hedgehog Blues

Hedgehog Blues It’s not easy to hug a hedgehog… But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t… Try Just because he doesn’t dance… Doesn’t mean he shouldn’t… Try As rainbows reach across the sky… His mind can reach across the sky…If he Tries If you can dance, and reach, and Try Don’t stand in his way as He attempts to Try It’s not easy to hug a hedgehog… But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t… Try To just love him as he tries. For love builds wings upon which to fly.

I absolutely love this poem Carol, but if I could help you at all, I'd put: Byut that doesn't mean "Don't Try". The metre flows better. It's not a criticism, but I think you don't need the last verse. If you put DON'T TRY in capitals, it sort of concludes it very well. Oh keep writing like this. Children really do need some good writers coming their way and you are one of them for sure!!!!! ha ha

Marvelous metaphor, Carol! Simply stated, but with a powerful message. Well done!! Best wishes, Keith
