Plants hungry from drought - Open their leafy arms wide Welcome nourishment After two weeks of hot sun, we finally had nearly a foot of rain yesterday. It was enough to bring some green back to the once-brown lawn. Hallelujah! We used to have showers nearly every afternoon in the spring and summer, but that hasn't been the case this year so the rain was truly welcome.

Nice haiku, love the imagery of the second line. Two weeks of hot sun is something we rarely get in the UK ... maybe this summer

Nicely written Haiku, Carolyn! We just had a short thunderstorm with hail. We here don't have problems but they do have in Poland and the Czech republic with heavy floodings. Many people had to be evacuated. Thank you for you comment on "Call of the Owl" I also believe that these birds are special. Love, Gert

Many congratulations on your win in Rick's contest. Golly, we have plenty of rainfall in the Winter, it's about time we started storing it and shipping it to area's of the world hit by drought >> James

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Drought, the precursor to famine, is one of my dreaded fears. This haiku is special. Rain is a much loved commodity in the South where it used to be almost an everyday occurrence. We got some recently, too, Carolyn! Two days in a row, thankfully. SMILES! Dane
