MOTHER'S FAVORITE TREE
Lavender allure
Spring's roadside dressing
refreshing the senses
We feast our eyes
and breathe deep
Enchanting temptress
signals rebirth and renewal
stirring our hearts
with anticipation
Heart-shaped leaves
with universal appeal
speak of love and care
Such comeliness is
a gift from heaven
and worthy of praise
A definite lavender-pink in hue
so why, in our
wanting way, do we
call it a Red Bud Tree?
