I peddled a song round the streets
And found that not many were keen

The solemn church bell or the shout of cannon
Or at least the selfseeking drone
Of selling and buying and lying down prone
Was more to their taste

In haste I switched wares
And peddled long shares
Making over the song
To the young fool who happened along

I hear he has gone to the desert and sings
The same song and lo and behold
It ‘s breaking the heart in the young and the old

This one will stick. We too often cave, don't we? If we just stayed OUR course, who's to say where kicking self-doubt to the curb would take us...I look forward to reading more of your work in the future. Cheers, Cyndi
