Heartbeat
Sunlight sways steadily
Along the edges of the petals
Of the sweet flower encircled by thorns
Dancing in the breeze kissed with melancholy flavors
Carried away by the skin of the whispering clouds
In a swift and strong movement the world spins in sequence
All living things moving to the rhythm of her heartbeat
Linked in an intricate and delicate system of breath and death
Every minuscule piece of the puzzle weaved into a masterpiece
A beautiful, complex work of art that we call living
Everything making contact with another
As a trembling leaf is caressed slowly
By the tendril of an angel’s hair
With glistening stars for eyes
