Heart of Glass

My heart remains on my sleeve The same heart that is in your teeth My skin remembers your fingertips Your taste is still on my lips You quickly came, and quickly went I’ll never know what all this meant It seems like ages ago, the day we died Still, you have my heart, and my pride All wounds are said to heal in time But you have yet to fall off my mind And I find myself spending every day Keeping your memory out of the rain Do I dare be so bold to ask How you melted my heart to glass I could be grateful or equally sad To lose the best thing I never had
