Headin To Town
Hitch up them mules maw looks like we be headin fer town.
Stock up on them vittles, shoot might even buy you that new flanny night gown.
Shucks paw we ain’t got money fer such frivolous stuff.
Sold Bessies calf, heck fire we got more’n enough.
Get little Billie let’s take him along.
Been workin like a man gettin powerful strong.
My goodness paw is that money burnin a hole in them britches.
Might ought to take my needle n thread lay in some stitches.
She got old paw so tickled he started to roar.
He gotta laughin so hard he had to hold his ribs they got so sore.
He said doggone it maw if’n you ain’t a piece a cake, oh my, my.
Little Bill said , Paw you sure nuff love maw, she sure be the apple of your old
eye.
Rekun I do at that Bill, Shucks we been together most all our life.
Maybe not the fanciest gal at the dance, but I take pride shes my wife.
Lets get goin fer maw starts to pucker up and cry.
And get on across that river, whilst the river is dry.
Get up ole mule, gettem up lets go.
Headin off fer town, away they did go.
