I was a kid in love, in deep adoration, oh the worship, The longing affection that I breathed a thousand times; I wrote his name in my notebook, David, Dave, Mrs. David, Oh, it was love forever and ever and ever, I knew that. I kissed him with passion in my mind and my dreams, A girl of sixteen, a girl with stars in her eyes for this guy; I wrote him love letters that winged themselves to no where, He was a God, so regal on his big, black, shiny motorcycle. He was everything that my parents would have hated, Rough, streetwise, a real bad boy, reckless and free; But for me he was my everything and he left me breathless. Then one day while I was walking, he pulled up with a roar. He asked me to go for a ride and I did not hesitate, I jumped on that bike like I had been doing it always; Soon the wind was roaring and the open road was looming, The trees were a blur of green and I hung on to his waist. Soon we stopped for a drink and fries and we kissed, Want to come to Daytona with me, he asked easily; Holy smokes, my parents would never let me do that ever, But I did not want to look like a baby so I said, why not. I sneaked in my room and grabbed some clothes, Mom was on the telephone and Dad was in the yard; Then away I roared, I was free and reckless too, a warrior, I would stop somewhere and call them, but I never did. We stayed the nights in real sleazy hotel rooms, Oh those red hot nights of passion, it was so real; That I will remember forever and ever and ever for sure, David was sensual and sexy and I was in lust with him. But, I was getting tired of the wind and my butt hurt, This wildness was starting to not be such a good idea; This God of mine, handsome, sexy was about as dumb as a rock, Somehow the love and lust were just not enough for this girl. When he was in a store buying cigarettes, I took off, I grabbed my stuff and stuck out my finger to hitchhike; A truck stopped right away and I jumped in not looking back, A fatherly like man at the wheel said, where you going honey. Home, I said, tears falling down my cheeks . . . _______________________________ July 2, 2016 Poetry/Narrative/He Was My Everything copyright Protected, ID 16-805-771-0 All Rights Reserved. Hi BW, You have penned a good piece. It was like I was watching a good movie or reading a good book. You capured the feeling of young love very well. He was her everything until she got a dose of "reality". I'm sure I will see you standing in the winners circle. Best of luck in the contest-7:-) Alexis
