He Used To
She has a troubled past
that keeps throwing itself in the future.
She's been depressed,
this guy wants her back,
but whatever he does won't erase the picture.
He used to hit her,
call her all these ugly names.
She never used to tell us,
it was just written on her face.
She has a darkness around her,
and it just won't go away.
You should see the make-up
she uses to hide the shame.
She died and came to life on time,
but she walks around and he's still behind.
He used to tell her
she won't amount to anything.
He used to laugh at her,
saying she can't live without him.
Now she's gone from that,
but it's just there.
She used to love him with all her heart, and then he broke it.
She'll never love, or believe in anything.
