He Had Once Known Contest
The room was dark, he breathed the air.
His tongue wisp, but spoke of sin.
Encompassed with intolerance.
He knew not of the world, as we do.
He could not feel, as we do.
He did not love, as we do.
No light, no sound, breathe.
No thought, no love, no breeze blew.
No sense, but he knew.
His mind simmered.
His hands fell to his knees.
He screamed at the world.
"Why am I alive!"
"Why should I live, if I'm to die!"
Dim light, light sound, talk.
Some thought, some love, the breeze blew.
He smelled dew, he knew.
The sun had started to rise.
He started to wonder.
He had started to think.
The memories flooded back to him.
He had once loved, but lost.
He had cared, long ago.
He understood.
He knew.
bright sky, songs sung, life.
Overflowing emotions.
Oh yes, he did know.
