He Chose To Love

Bolted, bent, and borrowed A crown of thorns upon a tree He gave deep down within the bone A sacrifice that made you free Ridiculed and spat on Nothing left, there was no more Stolen from His mother Blood on her hands, her heart was torn Embracing all the things foretold God served them on His plate The Prince of Peace The Mighty King Who chose to love and not to hate His selfless love and His compassion Were not human but divine Just what might He’d been thinking When He was called to meet His plight All hail King of the Jews To Calvary and meet Your fate But yet again it was the same He chose to love and not to hate
