He Can'T Be Real
Some people say, “he can't be real”
Here's what I say to that
Rather be accused of being too jolly
Than trying to strangle the cat
I'm always wearing this jester hat
So everyone will surely know
I'm really trying, though hard at times
Not to let the sadness show
People don't want to hear your problems
They've plenty of their own to share
They tend to gravitate to happy souls
To help them forget their cares
Finally realized a long time ago
There's no point in wearing a frown
No matter how you feel or what goes wrong
It's not fair to bring others down
No one gets through without some strife
It's as natural as taking a breath
So click your heels and sing happy tunes
Anything's sure better than death!
Now you finally know why I do what I do
I'm as vulnerable as all of you guys
The difference is, my attitude allows me
My share of the happiness pie!
