He Called Me Sunshine

The feel of his hand, the touch of his face It was all I could ask for and a warm embrace His voice softly, and his eyes were mine A gentle yet whisper he says sunshine My heart thuds at the words so sincere and true His coal eyes staring back at my ocean blue I stumble and ramble and start to say His finger touches my lips in a knowing way. This night was cold and the windows of ice His warmth around me all would suffice I traced his face and ran through his hair My soul to his and for us to share Though night is brief and then to day So into his arms I think I shall stay Unfair had I thought love to be But he opened my heart and allowed me to see. Yet our eternity can last only so We faded and melted as did the snow His voice now stern and his eyes away What more did we have, nothing to say Our love that was his as it was mine I’ll never forget he called me sunshine As water rushes my ocean blue To this day I know what we had was true.
