Having a Bonfire

Stars twinkle in the sky A gentle breeze tousles the hair And without a care We roast marshmallows Over a bonfire Gazing into the flame Caught in a trance The crackle and pop A fragrant memory In my head Laughter all around Other times Lamenting lost loved ones A perplexing dance Of joy and sorrow A coyote calls An owl hoots And cats squabble elsewhere Next to the bonfire A new core memory is achieved Fall Flavors Poetry Contest (Having A Bonfire) Regina McIntosh 09/21/22

Wow! Congrats! Thanks for sharing this... making me vicariously feel how is it to "have a bonfire during Fall" with delight since I live in an "Autumnless" country. God bless you.
