Harvest

Its once again that time of year when fruit is at its sweetness Nuts swell bursting full of flavour lovely hazel, walnut and almonds. Just waiting for us to gather them sweet smells of cakes in the oven Cookies too a lovely golden brown. Apples such a rich beautiful colour grains of oats, wheat and perfect rye berries too so plump and very juicy there's no other season giving so much no wonder our pantry's brim with fullness. We gather them up with great glee watering savouring mouths are waiting. these goodies will carry us through while the snows of winter drag along. Tucked up, fires blazing, we sigh whilst enjoying each and every bite

i imagine my mother as a little girl and seeing the actual harvest being brought in by her father, who was an Iowan farmer. It's sure a wonderful time of the year that you portrayed
