Hard Times

Burning rubber on the pavement used to be my one big thrill. Now with the price of gas just thinking about it gives me a chill. Used to ten dollars worth of gas would last a week or more. Now it takes ten dollars worth just to get you backed out of your garages door. How did it get so one sided I really would like to know? It’s like someone changed the channel and you’re watching a different show. Maybe it’s just me could I be getting senile? I do know old age will catch you if you sit and wait awhile. It’s just seems it all happened so quick. Quicker than you could even flic your bic. I mean ain’t this stupid stuff enough to plumb make you sick. Maybe it’s just me again but this sure gets me ticked Does anybody besides me remember any good things old Nixon did. Like freezing prices this I do not kid. Like when they started running the price of gas up. He froze it said that was high enough. The old boy was smart he just wasn’t a very good thief. Least when he got caught he resigned rather than cause more grief. What about Clinton, got caught with his pants down. Got on camera and lied, I wonder why he wasn’t asked to step down. I don’t know what’s happening but I feel things are getting unfair. And who do we complain to, doesn’t anybody care? Well I’m starting to get frustrated, no I take that back I’m really getting mad. To see where this country is headed is just plumb down right sad. I don’t have any answers, no solutions can I find. I just wished we had as much foresight as we do looking at our behinds.
