Happy To Live

Joyeux de vivre is all he was, never knowing Fateful times, duty and love always glowing But deep inside the wicked times caught up Showing the fight was not within, fraught Father can you hear me? Love for country and love of gold Never amounted to love foretold He wandered inside and out Freedom from himself, please, he did shout! Father can you hear me? I'll help rebuild it for you, with a smile on his face He ran off into the woods singing without a trace His things gone, his face bloody and body beaten How long since he had eaten? He danced... Father can you hear me? Then on his calling of suffering he took it gladly Madly some would say, others and brothers looked on sadly But he was happy, and God blessed his love and loyalty; In darkest times he wrote his canticle and kissed a dove Nature heard him Father heard him Miracles and good are all around, even from local drunks in town Never forget the story of his joy and fervor to the lord's own May God come and snatch out the rot from within Evil cast aside by men like this, free from all sins Hear him
