Happy New Year
Hear a promise that comes so softly with new snow
At the touch of the hour, on a New Year's eve
Pristine, untouched in the moonlit glow
Pause for a moment, as the old year takes leave
Years slip away, and with new footsteps we go…
New paths of adventure lie waiting ahead
Each step we will tread, so velvety slow
We’ll walk on ahead, leaving yesterday’s bed
Yesterday’s sorrow, lies beneath downy lace
Each step is brand new...like an unwritten slate
As we walk on in silence, and a new hope begins
Rejoice, in this gift of a new shining face
