I wrote this after a very bad night in hospital which I cried though like a baby then I gave myself a good shake and told myself to give over and stop being so silly nothing can be as bad as I was making it out to be.This resulted in this poem and by the time I finished writing it I was relaxed and happy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Happiness is a state of mind See a horse nuzzling its foal They for the moment are surrounded by it. Or a sunbeam shining over a flower Making it sparkle and seem to dance with joy Its the mass of little things that give pleasure A child stops crying over a bump When its mother gives it a kiss. Its when little things by themselves Don't matter but collectively they bear happiness, You can have a half full glass or a half empty one The choice is yours to make look out for nice memories. So you see the more you quit crying over silly upsets The happier you will become in return Always choose to be positive about things The reward will be that you enjoy life much more.
Always think if you leave hospital alive you should be happy, but sometimes we do dwell on the negative. Still, tomorrow is another day to play and that's the true reward.
I was very happy to get back home and I am not negative in the least I got rid of that at the time by writing about just my way of dealing with things Shadow
Dear shadow, your strength is admirable, and so very evident through your poem too, you have written so well here and the poem shows how during difficult times, we should find little things that we can still be appreciative for. “You can have a half full glass or a half empty one The choice is yours to make look out for nice memories.” This stood out for me and it will remain in my mind today, as it hits deep. And is so powerfully uplifting. Thank you for sharing such wise and soulful words. Fav
Your verse eloquently encapsulates the idea of discovering happiness in the everyday moments of life. Whether it be the tender interaction between a mare and her foal or the gentle glow of sunlight upon a blooming flower, your words serve as a poignant reminder that joy can be found in the simple beauty that surrounds us.
quite right Sotto we cause our own sadness's by dwelling on the if only or why Me's stay and think about the positive things push negative thoughts away and you will become a happier soul and in return make and attract positive things and people to us you know and see it all around yourself even in disparing moments hugs Shadow
ty Daniel if my words can make even just one person happy I have done what I was intended to do in life all with the lord's help and guidance of course. I had become a slightly bitter person seeping and maybe even wallowing in the lost of friends when the answer lay in my own hands hugs Shadow
oh my...I can relate to this poem. I just boo-hooed for many nights after surgery a little over a year ago...the pain kept me awake; I was exhausted. When I'm exhausted I cry...silly me I remember saying. You're healing get over yourself...which I eventually did. Liked you, I discovered I generate my own suffering as well as my own happiness. Thanks for sharing your vulnerability with us. Have a great evening, hugs, Sara
