Hands

I look at my hands they've become old battered by the ravages of time They are still amazing to behold They connect me with all that is mine These hands have felt both pleasure and pain Battered by the ravages of time My fingers have wiped away the rain I have held loved ones close to my heart These hands have felt both pleasure and pain On life's stage my hands have played a part I happily reach them out to you I have held loved ones close to my heart I have joined my hands in prayer for you Thankfully they follow my command I happily reach them out to you I have felt the Oceans and the sand I marvel at the way that they feel Thankfully they follow my command In a way they make my world more real I look at my hands they've become old I marvel at the way that they feel They are still amazing to behold

Richard...I say it again...your poetic ability shines the most brightly in this form, in my opinion. I love how you do this and the topic was most fitting. Hands can say much when the tongue remains silent. :)

I like that, us French people love to talk with our hands *lol*

Hands are an easy thing to take for granted (heck, I do it all the time... even as I'm typing this message out). It's very humbling to take a breath now and then to just appreciate what you have. My brother's best friend lost his hand a couple years back, in his dads shop. You really don't know what you got until it's gone!

Yes... unfortunately it was (his right). He has adapted over time, but it for sure wasn't easy...

Owww. That would be terrible! I hope it wasn't his dominant hand.

This was beautiful. It's so true how many things define us, and our hands is a symbol of the age and grace we have become. Extremely well written! Loved it!

Hands, strengthened by memories and how one holds on to them. Well said here.
