Halloween's Cry
A cold chill fills the night
As fallen leaves dance with fright
Bats and witches prepare to fly
The time has come for Halloween’s cry.
The blustery night is filled with dread
Among the living walk the dead
Haunted houses come alive
Inner fears begin to thrive.
Bones rattle in a skeleton’s dance
As mummies rise to take a stance
Shivers creep up the spine
Out of the dark golden eyes shine.
Ghost and goblins wander the streets
Ringing each bell for tricks or treats
Moans and groans fill the night
Masking each town with Halloween’s fright.
Carved pumpkins flash a grin
Scary tales begin to spin
Witches cackle, Bats shriek
Dark shadows silently speak.
Dogs bark, cats prowl
Doors creak, Winds howl
A harvest moon fills the sky
The time has come for Halloween’s cry.
