Half a Love

I thought you were giving me Everything But in reality you were just Pretending It was like a love story Except it was only half done I was the only one being real You just hooked me in Because you wanted something to control I thought you were my first love But now I realize you didn't even Love me at all I had a broken heart before But you came to mend it Once it was fixed You broke me down and took half of it and left It was like you wanted me To feel empty But you wanted me to feel Every sort of anger and pain At the same time But where is the man I fell in love with before? The one who couldn't stand to see me cry I guess he never even existed Or did greed get to him And he just vanished with time It was half a love I gave you everything while I was Dying And you gave me nothing while you were Thriving And now that I've given you everything You left me for dead Date Written- 01/01/16 Short Explanation: I have seen people I love go through so much anger and pain because of stupid people. It kills me personally; so I wrote a poem through their point of view, and I came up with this.
