Half a Heart
It hurts
It burns me at my core
The pain unbearable
Twisting like a knife
The grief, the sorrow
The mourning of your loss
Why? Why did you go?
Did I not love you enough?
Did my love not show?
Every day I miss you
Every day I feel lost
I can’t take it, can’t bear it
Want to run but can’t escape
Will I see you again?
Will I be in your arms once more?
Is life ever fair?
Is pain always there?
Can I wish it away?
Can they take me in your place?
Death is always there
Takes away what can’t be replaced
In the end when I see you
Maybe I’ll be whole once again
But until that time, all I will have is
Half a Heart
