Ohh Paul, such eloquent and elegant imagery of graceful dark bodies with flying manes, tails with sounds of hooves rhythmic, like heartbeats, galloping thru the veils of darkness towards the morning light.. Sleepless nights are never fun but your captivating Haiku makes it sound so beautiful and it enchants my imagination my friend.. Beautifully done!

Eloquence and grace are to be found in your awesome comments, Susan...a poem in themselves! Thank you. Fortunately I do not usually suffer from restless nights, but I have been a victim a few times. ~ Warm regards & good night (here it's 11.13 pm) // paul

You described my sometimes restless mind w/such accuracy, Paul. An excellent tristich. Hmmm, may have to try this form. Very Yoda-like. Gallop on w/your mighty steed of a pen, my friend. Happy New Year. Love and best wishes to you.

Hi Freddie! I was not sure whether this poem qualifies as a haiku, so I preferred to call it a tristich. Glad you found excellence in it! A happy and blessed new year to you, too, my friend. Regards // paul

I have no idea what a troika is, and I'm personally no good at Haiku...but hooves in the title drew me in, and I am not disappointed! This is beautiful and pure like horses themselves:)...of course I love pix!! Happy New Year:)
