Hello my good friend Timothy Hicks! Just a note to let you know I'm still alive and kicking. Just sold our house and totally engulfed in preparing for the move. Will be back as soon as we get to our new abode. Your Haiku about candles struck home with me. They create a warm cozy feeling! Talk at ya later... Jack

Good to know, Jack! I was wondering where you've been all this time! Hope you enjoy your new place... I've lived in the same house for thirteen years now (my family despises moving... lol).

Haha cute Haiku! I liked this one. Candles I always thought are great! I used to love when the electricity came out. Would be so cozy. :)

this is so cool, and kind of tongue in cheek for me. Those who used candles only were not all that far back in history. But it sure seems that way.

You got that right, Andrea! Light bulbs are fairly recent considering our mindset on them... it seems people adjust to changes (in general) very quickly... odd.

Oh Timothy..due to the war in Lebanon, we had power cuts ALL THE TIME! The closest family times I remember is when we would have those candles burning and we would just bask in the glow and share what's on our hearts. There still are power cuts here, but the generators kick in! LOVELY haiku....You brought back the magic of memories for me! Hugs!

So happy to hear it! It rarely happens over here, but it definitely gives you a very different feeling and perspective on things... forcing people to step away from technological vices and step closer to those around you...

you surely tuned on the magical trick of a 'ku...power outage segueing into candles!... stunning!..:) huggs

Ha! Now I want to see Neverending Story with the kid lighting up the little candle as he read the book, stuck in that room. Falcor! Great job, per usual. :)

Never heard of that book before, but now you make me curious!

Yes, I remember the days when I was young when we used to do this(me and my friends!) We would do it even when there wasn't a power outage but mom would always get after us whenever we would do it(we could "burn the house down!") Although there's magic within the flame, we wouldn't really be practicing magic...it would just be a superficial fun way we would go about it! This is an awesome poem my friend! Such a delightful piece, quite the enlightening write this morning! Great Work!!

Aww, thanks Russell! Candles always seemed kind of exotic, but it's just the age we live in I believe.
