Had To Be
Let the snow fall on a cedar strewn lawn
Let a twilight mist be cleared by the dawn
Loving you has had its time
Now and tomorrow are mine
Chilled Autumn brings a new
Phantom lover that I once knew
Another face to turn away
Committed to the passing day
Memory will linger on
Though her heart is surely gone
Never again to smile upon me
No regret, it had to be
