Had I
Had I the power, as do the gods above
Had I ability, as a prodigal mind
I would gladly steal away your heart
To a place depspair would be so disinclined
Had I essence, enough to captivate
Had I words, readily believed true
I'd whisper the world in sentiments
Into open ears that need proof
Had I caution, had I greater fear
Had I a softer will of thy very own
I may have heeded the path chosen
Lest the road be so greatly worn
Hope I had though and held it true
Headstrong and stumbling on the road I chose
Had I any regrets any this life
My love, you'd not be one of those
