Gypsy Woman

Wondering where you are now Gypsy woman Wondering if those dark eyes can cast a spell Remembering those warm nights Gypsy woman Living here without you sure is hell I was just a young lad Gypsy woman Met you on an island but couldn’t stay In your eyes I could see the fire Thinking about you still takes my breath away At a local bar I received a warning Be careful son, she’ll tear your world apart When I sailed away, I remember looking for you Before you left me, you stole away my heart There’s not a night that I don’t dream about you Or smell your scent in the summer breeze Sometimes I just can’t bear to be without you And wish I could sail back across those seas Too many years have passed now Gypsy woman But the fire still burns inside this lonely heart Your smile still haunts my dreams yet Gypsy woman I awake at night and feel my teardrops start On the shoreline dreaming beyond the horizon Wondering if we were blessed or if we sinned Can you hear me when I call you Gypsy woman Send a message that I love you on the wind.

This reminds me of the old old song, (my mom would play it on the piano...) I still remember the words to "Golden Earring"...the poem you wrote is haunting, could be set to that old music. Great job, Vince!!

this is beautiful, and i fell in love with the last verse-"Send a message that i love you on the wind"----the grass is always greener on the other side, and sometimes special short moments are a good escapeism from realiawesome--charma

Hope the Gypsy woman receives the message you send "on the wind," Vince. It's hard to live without someone you loved this much. Perhaps she still things longingly of you. Hope she makes her way back into your life. Beautifully written poem. Love, Carolyn
