Guitar Song For One Legged Cowboys

There is a haunting song Heard down by the railroad tracks Where the box elders grow and die A guitar song for one legged cowboys All our neighbors resting In the shadows of sentinel cedars Humming the same sigh A guitar song for one legged cowboys The starlings stop thier idle gossip Magpies pause their pointless tease Morning doves and hoot owls vie A guitar song for one legged cowboys Then the artists died Their sculptures tossed into the weeds Forgetfuly frozen in the lie A guitar song for one legged cowboys
