Guilty
I sit in wait
The barren walls enclose me like a cage
The eyes watching penetrate through me
I wait for the judge’s verdict
I start to sweat
The handcuffs chafe my wrists
Then the words echo inside me
Guilty, Death Penalty
As I walk I pray
Prayers, for forgiveness
I am unable to face my family
I am a monster
I understand I need to pay for what I have done
Silently I cry,
Tears of disappointment
Disappointment in myself
I stand there shaking
The rope around my neck
I stare at the doors below
I am a dead man
My heart races
One, two, three
My life flashes before my eyes
Gone
