Guardian Angel
Guardian Angel
Somewhere there's an angel
with her head held in her hands.
Sent to be beside me
when no one understands.
Frustrated by my blindness
and things that I can't see.
Sometimes driven crazy
by the things that make me me.
I wonder if she wonders
if I'm ever going to learn
Consequences that I face
from bridges I can't burn.
Things it seems I cling to
I have my whole life through.
You can't let go of something
that's holding on to you.
People I'm still loving
in this crazy life I live.
And those that I have pushed away
I struggle to forgive.
Times of indecision
when I just can't decide.
Laughter when I shouldn't
and tears that I can't hide.
Those times when I am certain
that God's neglecting me.
It's then it seems I turn to find
that He's protecting me.
And somewhere there's an angel
with her head held in her hands.
Sent to be beside me
when no one understands.
