Grass On the Other Side
I’m in love and happy
but sometimes he acts crappy
see my neighbour so manly and orderly
oh! They say he isn’t good in bed.
I’m in love and quite satisfied
but sometimes he seems not qualified
check out my boss, so caring and responsible
oh! He’s a harlot in suit and tie.
I’m in love and married
but sometimes he makes me worried
I wish for the gardener, a pornographer to his wife
oh! He’s too rigid and without an iota of romance.
I’m in love and healthy
that sometimes makes him too wealthy
see my colleague who fights for his family
but gets drunk to forget all the challenges.
I’m in love and very proud
but sometimes, I feel like a fool in the crowd
my friends and acquaintances are all singles
but still lack the sense of responsibility for a home.
I’m in love and blessed
but still have to always clean up his mess
look at my pastor, so upright and moral
oh! He’s stingy and a breaker of the Oath of secrecy.
I’m in love with children
still checked out by other brethren
for example the governor, who is flashy and funny
but he’s married and a confident cheat.
I’m in love and growing
but sometimes it stops me from glowing
yes! The honey is not tasted all the time
this is also the same in intimate unions everywhere.
I’m in love and learning
experience and peace I’m earning
if the tenth is missing, make do of nine like this poem
b’cos the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
