Granite

Heart impenetrable. I hammer a nail In a vain attempt To hang my portrait. In the depth of her soul. She loves me not, The spark has long died, Like a weak light In a hurricane lamp. Everything's dark And hard..... Like granite.

She's not the right one. Just my simple thinking. When the time is right though, you will find the right one, or she will find you. It usually happens, when you least expect it. Congratulations Victor, on Poem of the Day. Hugs, Brandy

Victor, your poignant poem is deeply moving and metaphorically beautiful.. so sad to have a granite heart, even sadder still, is to be in love with someone who has a granite heart. Congratulations for well-deserved and worthy POTD honors with this stunning gem. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
