Grammah

Put it down to a grey-haired obsession; Participles are a vexed question. Even though it sounds quaint, Elegant it ain't, Robbing gerunds of their possessions!

Hmm...and here all this time I thought that "grammah" is what is taught in Southern schools. And I think this piece is both "elegant" and "quaint", Elizabeth.

Nice one, Jim! It's also found in Australia as in supah! or loitah. The "r's" are saved for ending words like verander and pander. The bear, I mean. But, having been heah for yeahs, I'm now bilingual. Elizabeth

Dang, I had to try to remember what a dangling participle was! They do create some funny pictures. Thanks, Rico, You caught me out! Elizabeth

Now, let me see. Hmmm...gerunds end in -ing; infinitives are introduced by the word "to," now how do I identify a participle? Let me get out my grammah book! Wonderful, simply wonderful, Elizabeth.
