Graduation Day

Am I different because of the letters after my name It's hard to tell, I still feel the same There is a distinct sense of achievement Proof that my youth wasn't completely misspent As a child I'd had no idea at all That I'd ever walk along a university hall But a teacher then said they had high expectations And that set down some of the foundations I passed my first exams with ease Got cocky and thought it would all be a breeze Then got a shock when it stopped being a walk in the park Had to get my head down with the revision lark Figured it out and got a cap and a gown Then studied some more in a different town Did it change the course of my life, it's hard to say But it's something I've done no-one can take away Graduation Day Poetry Contest 2nd March 2023 Sponsored by: Craig Cornish
