Goodness of Love
I think of you, but not as much.
Memories are fading away.
I no longer feel your touch.
I am free of the games you play.
The echo of your voice, I don't hear,
empty words you loved to share.
Who you are, I refuse to fear.
What you are about, I don't care.
Your needs, had to become mine,
deciding it was for the best.
Each of them, you had to define,
for I would be put to the test.
You did not believe in compromise,
something you would not do.
I was supposed to realize,
that my beliefs, came from you.
The damage that you have done,
I will someday rise above.
With the knowledge that I have won,
still believing in the goodness of love.
