Goodbye Forever

Slowly so sneakily you crept into my life Destroying everything in your path You simply don’t care do you? Leaving your slime everywhere Eradicating everything you touch Moving on to your next innocent victim You revolt me and I detest the sight of you I heaved when I saw you today Well I’ve got news for you I know your little game and ITS OVER I’ve put the pellets down and you are trapped Goodbye slug forever Jan Allison 4th September 2014

Poor little slugs, Jan! Can't help it feel sorry for them when they get killed. I know the are very destructive to plants and garden and so yucky looking, slimmy and all that. But still think they do what's in their nature looking for their meal supply to live and survive. Sometimes I don't even know what to do with them when I see them in some of my plants. *sighs* have to do what I have to do I guess, you get my point. Great write Jan! Hugs! xxxx D.

The slimy Slug and snail Slither through each fence and rail And we growl to no avail As they munch our veg and kale But at least they get the nail With pellets mixed in a pail And whether sun or rain or hail We are rid of slime and trail.... Thanks for the laugh Jan... :)

Jan I should tell you. Five years ago I took my mother to hospital. Although my Dad was around they needed my help. My mother came out a year later. She has bed ridden since. I found myself caring for my parents until two years ago when I lost my father. Now I care for my mother. It has been difficult for me but rewarding. This is a great distraction for me.

Maurice my heart goes out to you thank you for sharing - illness and aging parents - it is so so difficult isn't it - i guess we all have a story how we came to be here and you know mine. Writing poetry is a great distraction and cathartic and it has changed my life forever for the better with some amazing friendships forged and a confidence i never had before:-) Hugs Jan xxx Keep smiling Maurice I try to :-) :-)

i think the part that hurts me the most is that you refer to me as a slug and i am not even the one who brought up your melons. oh tim what a wicked web you weave once you enter jan's garden. all that aside, i loved this so called "personification". well written, constructed formed and expressed. a great read, very pleasing.
