Imagine if success didn’t make you cocky or a dismissive know it all entitled to be gobby, and your opinion of yourself wasn’t with a view as you kept your feet on the ground where all the others do, because you weren’t defined by that one accomplishment stayed focus and determined with plenty more to come, fully aware the top spot on the podium isn’t home, where many more are destined for and lots before have known, you are just a shooting star burning up in the atmosphere, soon your glow will disappear the next champion arriving here stay humble as you celebrate show respect and appreciate when it’s gone don’t fill with hate, go again and become a great.

Nick, thank you for this poem that extols the ebb and flow of success and reminds all of us that we are part of a larger community of writers with an a important life lesson of humility and grace.
