Good Old Dog
He steps a little slower, needs help up the stairs
He sometimes ignores the neighbor's cat
All he wants to do as eat all his food
and enjoy a long long nap
That spark in his eyes has dim to calm
that waggly tail doesn't wag as strong
His bark seems softer and ends in a puff
and long walks now seem a little rough
But he still enjoys lying in my lap
and I cuddle him as he naps
He lifts up his lazy head to yawn
and snuggles into my heart where he belongs...
