Good Night Mom

As she laid there dying I prayed, I prayed that her pain would go away. She was scared and afraid of what was to come, because of her past and all that she'd done. I told her that she didn't need to fear, that Jesus was with her holding her near. His Love would overcome all that she'd known, and soon it would be over and she could come home. Home to her sister and brother, father and mother. It had been so long since they where all together. The devil once controlled her with "additive behavior" but now she had Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. And now she could rest with the peace of mind, that one day we would all meet on the other side. I wished her a good night with a kiss on the head, told her I loved her and let go of her hand. She was more that a mother to me, she was my Mom.

How very touching. You painted a picture in my mind and reminded me of when I told my dad and my mom goodbye for the last time, I was with them both when they passed away, 7 months apart to the day. It could have be really sad if she knew not our Saviour. Welcome to the "soup." Blessings...............Janice

This is such a touching poem. It's all about reality in these contemporary times. There are many situations in existence such as this. Your mother will be proud of you with this tribute. It speaks highly of your thoughts. Great job and God bless always! ~Joseph

Laura this was so painful. I'm so sorry about your mom. You have put it in words so perfectly. I was never close to my mom but I really feel like crying now. May God bless her soul. Love, Chitra

o.k. i cried. my mother died 2005 and it took care of her and oh, how i miss her. i miss her love and i miss her sense of humor where we would laugh for hours over dumb things. i don't know what to say, only that i do know how hard it is to be with out mom. moms' no matter what they are themselves will deep in their heart always yearn for something better for their children and mom will be the only person that truly cares about all of you.
