Golden Memories
Reflecting on one's past is commonplace
We weigh our choices with old lessons learned.
When looking in a mirror at our face
Our youth is scarred with wrinkles, laurels earned.
Some folks will call it "living in the past"
It is a fate that comes with growing old
And truthfully, it all went by so fast
In one eye blink, a lifetime can unfold
Yet all of us are rich in memories
Which seem to me, to come and go at will
They are the remnants of life's vagaries
We drink like wine, until we've had our fill
The next time one decides to come around
Be thankful for the treasure you have found.
