Gold Plated Ideals

beautiful, cinderella, crazy, growing up, humor, word play, Gold Plated Ideals© The ice-white-capped teeth Smile and beguile the contacted eye ‘Java’ white-bright tee shirts dazzle Plastic letters ironed on right-side in Shoulders the body making a statement? Speaks to me of this century’s impurities Air fresheners smelling of ‘spice’ Coats the hazy circulating sun Press-on nails make a statement All this is in the name of ‘add-ons’! Linens yellow with age and crinkle fine Woolens shrink if washed in hot water Cottons now stretch with added spandex Silks colourful and light, billow with mirth Brighten the day to darken the night! Vitamins and creams make the skin turn young Micro-wave quickens re-packaged (fake-foods) ‘boxed’ Time ‘replays’ when circling the moon-beamed skies!

I came across a prestigious list of the top 100 most published poets here and I am not surprise. Your quality indeed goes hand in hand with your quantity. I'll check one or two more of your works because this has given me a unique satisfaction. I give you a handshake of a definite 7!

Thank you so much Funom for your kind mention and wonderfully rated high mark of 7 you gave me after reading this poem. You certainly give me a lot of self-satisfaction in knowing it is getting a great response, especially from you. Thanks, you fed my ego and make me want to go and write some more.....didee

:) HA! Love the "bellow with mirth." Enjoyed your write. I've told my 6 year old daughter (I am 48 soon to be 49) that mom and dad will be raising her "old school." Younger parents are shocked, even concerned, that she doesn't play with tablets, cell phones... I say, "they are called toys and books and crafts." LOL!!!

I wish you luck----true absenteeism, no matter from what, where, when or why...gives courage and added hope to all of us in the end if achieved wholly or partly It helps to bring out the uniqueness in people's imagination that certainly leads to creative thinking. Go for it! But are you as a parent willing and able to bypass the 'toys and entertainment out there today, in business and play? Both these acts are essential components to further development and learning abilities. You are wise as parents to feel a need to choose what and how your children are to achieve success through your learnt personal teachings. It will be an arduous chore as peer-pressure is something very hard to ignore and accept.

Also I would like to mention--- It will be interesting how, where, why and when you choose what to abstain from. I firmly agree with you it is our choice. Thank you for your comment and so glad you enjoyed my message!
