Author's Notes: Please enjoy another metaphyscial walk into the Unknown that I have just developed here in the narrative of "Going Somewhere." This newest write is a companion poem to an earlier couplet, "Being Nowhere," that I posted on August 8, 2018 on Poetry Soup. Enjoy the walk!! (Gary Bateman - September 7, 2018) (Couplet)

Going Somewhere Somewhere is another bizarre place to be, especially if didn’t know how you got there. Somewhere qualifies as another special metaphysical indeterminate like nowhere. Generally, we’re all going somewhere as part of the greater space-time continuum. In our earthly mortal world, daily points of destination are readily known to each of us. This is part of that tangible-known world that each of us as human beings conform to. One’s inner psyche, on the metaphysical plane, may experience something entirely different. What was once a “tangible-known” on this Earth, may be that “intangible-unknown” of somewhere. Space and time define us all in our human world, whilst the terra firma of Earth is our palpable surety. After dreaming deeply one night, who knows, maybe your soul might become resident in that somewhere! Perhaps your new presence in this realm of somewhere, like being in nowhere, is your preordained karmic strife. If this isn’t the case, then by cosmic fate, you’ve now unknowingly found yourself in another dimension. If this be so, then praying to God might be of help, since He knows that somewhere is out there in the Great Beyond! Gary Bateman, Copyright © All Rights Reserved September 7, 2018 (Couplet)

What if somewhere is nowhere but here later? What if our future lives on in our works? You made my hair hurt with this one Gary. But that's a good thing...

Hello Charlie, Many Thanks as always for your prescient and insightful comments!! Yes, I wrote this one on purpose in order to stimulate conversation, and to hopefully make the reader think a bit. You do pose great questions here. Somewhere is related to Nowhere, and this poem is a companion poem to the one I wrote earlier: "Being Nowhere." I do really appreciate you comments!! Cheers and Best, Gary

A very heady, mind-bender of a poem! To think that of all the potential, infinite somewheres that exist everyone will know (to some extent intimately) a finite set of them in their lifetime.

Hello Jesse, Thanks very much for your gracious comment and observations here. There are truly very many things that surround all of us, that few of us are attuned to and even remotely aware of. The potential you allude to is definitely there. People just need to open their minds to the greater realities that exist beyond our earthly world. Cheers and Best, Gary
